Open a pane and answer an agent

The point of all this: find the pane your agent runs in, work in its live terminal, and answer the agent there when it stops to ask.

Open a pane

On the app's home, tap Workspaces, then a workspace, a tab and a pane. The pane opens on its own, sized to the phone, showing the live Herdr terminal. Tap the breadcrumbs at the top to go back up; bookmark a pane to find it again from home.

Type in it

Tap the keyboard button at the bottom right to type with your Android keyboard. The key strip above it sends Esc, Tab, Ctrl, Alt, Super, Shift and the arrows; hold Backspace or an arrow to repeat.

Let an agent ask you something

On the computer, or from the phone, start an agent in a Herdr pane and give it a task it must confirm, for example editing a file in a project where approvals are on. Allow notifications when the app asks for them.

What you should see

  • The app's home lists the agent under Needs attention, marked Waiting for input.
  • Android shows a notification such as "Claude Code needs you: Claude Code is waiting for you in storefront · checkout." with the agent's question under it.
  • Tapping the notification opens that pane. The question, the diff and the numbered choices are in the terminal: answer by typing the number or moving with the arrows and pressing Enter, as you would at the desk.
  • Back at the computer, the agent continues as if you had answered at the keyboard.

Tap a web link in the terminal. Open link asks where: This phone (a localhost link goes through the SSH connection, so the dev server opens in the phone's browser) or one of your saved computers, which the app checks over SSH and marks as ready, offline, or unable to open a browser.

Herdr reports waiting only for the agents it recognises (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, Cursor, OpenCode and more). Start the agent from inside a Herdr pane, not in a separate terminal.
